#55: Suguru "Sug" Nishioka

It’s June 2021. The world is slowly working out what normal is going to look like. And I have finally embraced the idea of recording podcasts remotely.

I’ve lined up some great guests for the coming months. Mostly people who I would not normally get to sit down and talk with in person, because of geography, or scheduling, or stars failing to align.

I don’t know why I put this off for so long. I think I’d forgotten how much fun it is to talk with another nerd about these little time keeping devices that we love.

The first of these remote interviews is with Suguru Nishioka — Product designer, entrepreneur, CTO, Watch enthusiast, editorial translator for HODINKEE, photographer, scuba diver, motorcycle rider and so much more.

You may know him from Instagram where he goes by the handle of @garactacle, and shares beautiful photos of watches, diving, and often diving with watches.

These days he is based in San Francisco, California. But when we got together to record this episode, he was just outside of Tokyo, Japan. Quarantining at his sister’s, on route to visit his father, and pass on one of the watches that we’re going to be talking about today.

If you like what you hear, please leave a rating and review on Apple Podcasts. If you love what you hear, you can buy me a virtual pint to say thanks.
